Why design pressure is configuration-specific
Avoid turning one table maximum into a universal allowable pressure.
A pressure value belongs to a row and condition
Approved documents may tie positive and negative pressure values to a particular size, span, glass, panel, mullion, substrate, anchor spacing, edge distance, fastener, or installation method. Removing those dimensions from the value changes its meaning.
A catalog should store the table headers, row and column coordinates, source-native units, and page locator. It should not keep only the largest absolute value.
Required pressure is a different project input
This explorer never calculates wind loads or required design pressure. A user may enter a value supplied by a qualified professional into a private worksheet, but the tool does not compare that value to a configuration and declare pass or fail.
A safe comparison needs matching scope
Two pressure claims are comparable only when units and configuration dimensions align. Otherwise the comparison should say not comparable and link to the official tables.
- Keep positive and negative values separate.
- Preserve source-native units.
- Record exact configuration and dimensions.
- Cite the PDF page and table cell.
- Send OCR or table-derived values to review.
