How to prepare approval documents for permit review
Assemble exact identifiers, official links, selected configuration facts, and unresolved questions.
Build a traceable packet
Start with the exact approval or NOA number and revision. Include the official record link, full official document links, source last-checked time, and the product description that matches the proposed item. Avoid screenshots without URLs or revision context.
Keep project inputs separate
Project address, product location, required pressures, size, substrate, anchors, glazing, and notes are project-provided information. They are not official approval facts and should not be sent to an approval database by default.
Turn gaps into questions
A useful worksheet lists unresolved fields instead of guessing. Ask which configuration applies, whether the project pressure has been established, whether the substrate and fastener schedule match, and whether the AHJ needs additional documentation.
