How to verify the current official record
Check identity, raw status, dates, revision context, and source freshness without inference.
Begin at the official search
Use the official search rather than a reseller page, screenshot, or search-result snippet. Enter the full identifier and confirm that the official detail page shows the same manufacturer or applicant, category, and product description you expect.
Read raw status and dates separately
A date is not a status. An approval date does not prove current status, and a future expiration date does not override an explicit closed or superseded label. Keep each official field as a separate claim and show any conflict to the user.
For Florida records, do not substitute a quality-assurance contract date for approval expiration. For Miami-Dade, consult the official status key and the exact result row.
Capture the verification context
Record the official URL, time checked in UTC, source-native status, mapping version, and linked document version. If the source is unavailable, keep the last verified data and show an outage; do not change status automatically.
- Match exact number and organization.
- Read the raw status.
- Check for explicit prior or replacement links.
- Open the full document.
- Record the last-checked time.
