How to locate installation limitations in approval documents
Move from the record header to the exact drawing, table, note, and limitation that govern a configuration.
Use the record page as an index
Confirm the exact record first, then open every official document that applies to the selected item. Installation instructions, evaluation reports, drawings, certificates, and NOAs serve different functions; a file name alone does not establish legal meaning.
Search for the configuration, then read around it
Find the exact model, series, item number, size, or assembly. Read the table title, column headers, footnotes, adjacent notes, and general limitations. A deep link is a starting point, not a substitute for the complete document.
Record unresolved conditions
If the document is scanned, rotated, or ambiguous, mark the field not extracted or review pending. Do not fill a blank from a similar revision.
- Confirm document version and record number.
- Locate the exact model or line item.
- Read table headers and footnotes.
- Capture printed and PDF page numbers.
- Ask for review when scope is uncertain.
