Florida statewide approvals vs. Miami-Dade NOAs
Understand why the two official systems must stay distinct in search, status, and project review.
Neither label answers a project question alone
A record does not automatically establish that a product may be used for every building, location, exposure, pressure, size, substrate, or installation. An NOA does not become automatic statewide permission merely because an official PDF is public. A statewide approval does not erase project-specific limitations or the building official’s role.
Use the exact system evidence
Verify the Florida application in BCIS and the Miami-Dade record in Product Control. Read the full official document and record the code edition, configuration, dates, and unresolved fields separately.
- Identify the issuing authority.
- Copy the exact official number.
- Read the raw status.
- Confirm the exact configuration.
- Ask the AHJ about project-specific acceptance.
